Chapter 2: What was it like for Ronneill when his foot was broken?

One day, when he was born he had a messed up foot.  They called it a club foot.  He was so unhappy that he couldn't play with the other kids.  Then on the day of surgery, his mom told him he had to have surgery.  He was scared that that the black would fall off.  When he went to the hospital, it took his mom a half hour just to get him to go in the hospital.  He would not take off the seatbelt or get out of the car.  He tried to run into the boys bathroom.  His mom had to drag him to the waiting room.  He was twiddling his thumbs.  And it happened.  Doctor Thacker came out.  Very tall doctor, he was putting on some gloves.  Next thing you know he pulls the gloves so hard, it made a "pop" sound and I started to run.   My mom said, "Excuse me, while I grab my son."  And she grabbed me and then her and my big brother had to carry me to the waiting room.  Every chance I'd get I'd try to go to the bathroom to make a run for it.  Then my Mom would grab me, then the doctor came in.  He said, how are you doing.  He checked my hand.  He saw that I was nervous and shaking like a rattle.  He gave me these pills.  One minute I was awake, next minute I'm gone.  Then I woke up with a bangin' headache and my foot propped up in the air.  It felt like I was hanging by my foot.  It was hurting very excrutiatingly.  Tears down my face.  Slobber on my shirt.  I looked to the side of me, and there goes my mom, asleep.  I didn't want to wake her up.  I tried to get up.  I forgot that I had surgery and "bam" I'm on the floor, I hit my foot and it really hurt.  So my Mom helps me back up and I go back to sleep.  Then I see the TV and I pull it in front of me. Spongebob is on.  Goofy Gubert.  You should watch it sometime.  It is very funny.  Everynight my mom would leave me.  She would go always pick up my brother in the morning while my step-dad was at work, and he would stay with me.   When he first came the first day he brought me a donut and some juice and one of those little plastic army men.  We were playing.  When it was time for me to get out on that last day, I had a friend, his name was John Soiler, kind of a weird name.  He was Caucasian.  We was in a waiting area, it was a play area for the kids, and then Dr. Thacker came in.  I told the nurse that was pushing me around that we saw it, there it was, the Playstation 2.  I plugged it in.  We had a disabled man-off.  And then we started playing.  It was this game called Dragon-Ball Z.  Budakai.  KenKaichi 3.  It was so fun.  I was kicking his butt with my favorite character on there.  His name was Trunks.  That's when my mom came in.  She was like, what are you donig, I was like nothing.  I'm just kicking my friend's butt. My brother was like, let me play.  And that's when it happened, my temper blown out of proportion.  I was like "No".  He was like "please!"  I was like "No."  Then I got smacked in the head cause I said "you is ugly."  Then it was time to go home.  John, put out his hand and said, Good Job. I was like, "it ain't over yet, I'll be back tomorrow"  I was like, "Mom, can we stay another day?"  She said no I'm tired of sleeping in hospital chairs, it hurts my back.  I'm tired, I'm hungry.  I want to get something to eat and go home.  So I'm in my wheelchair, I'm grumpy as ever, and then my brother is like, "let me sit in front."  I said no.  Then that's when the doctor came out with a lot of pillows.  And I said, "oh yeah."  So I got my foot propped up in the front seat.  And I was like, "Mom". I told her to look over, we was at a light, there was a boy driving behind us.  He pulled up next to us.  He said, "nice foot."  Then, he drove off.  Then we was on the highway.  So this time, he was driving with one foot with his leg out of the window.  So my mom got in front of him.  And then we went home.  We went to sleep it was like 11:00 at night.  The next thing you know my foot slid accidently off the pillow.  I woke up started screaming.  My mom always keeps one of those mini-baseball bats and she grabbed it, she was like, "what?"  I was like, I hurt my foot.  So she gave me a Percoset and some iced tea and was like, go to sleep.  The next day I woke up, went outside.  My cousin and my brothers were playing.  So I asked my mom to hand me my wheelchair and by myself I went to my cousin's house.  They live right around the corner from me. Aisha, she's always trying to run and
